Juicy Oven Baked Chicken Breast

Ingredients

2 lb chicken breast, (about 4-6 pieces)

1 tsp paprika

1 tbsp garlic parsley salt

1 tsp black pepper, or added to taste

2 tbsp oil, olive or avocado

Steps

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the chicken breast on a lined baking sheet.

 

Season the chicken breasts on all sides with oil, paprika, garlic parsley salt, and pepper.

 

Bake for about 20 minutes or until chicken reaches 165°F on a thermometer.


How to Bake Chicken Breast in the Oven

  1. Assemble – Preheat the oven to 400°F and assemble the chicken breast in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. 
  2. Season – Rub the chicken on all sides with the oil, paprika, garlic parsley salt, and black pepper. 
  3. Bake the Chicken – Bake the chicken uncovered for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F on a thermometer. Once you remove the chicken breasts from the oven, allow them to sit at room temperature for a couple of minutes to lock in all the juice.


Note: The doneness temperatures for medium rare and medium stated above are traditional temperatures used for cooking steak, but are not recommended by the USDA. To maintain food safety, the USDA recommends an internal temperature of 145°F, as measured using a food thermometer, with a 3-minute rest time before carving.
